SPL logging – Which Solution Is Right for You?

If you need to measure and log sound levels, there are several good solutions available. Two of them are Smaart SPL and 10EaZy. Both do the job well, but they have slightly different starting points — and they can actually be used together.

10EaZy – a complete SPL system

10EaZy is designed as a complete solution for SPL measurement and logging. The hardware and software are designed to work together, making the system straightforward to set up and use.

This makes 10EaZy a great choice when you primarily need reliable SPL monitoring and documentation.

But 10EaZy doesn’t have to work on its own.

10EaZy can also be used as measurement hardware within the Smaart ecosystem. This means you can use a 10EaZy system with Smaart when you want to move beyond basic SPL logging and into more comprehensive measurement and analysis.

Smaart SPL – SPL as software

Smaart SPL is a dedicated software solution for SPL measurement, monitoring, and logging. It gives you more freedom to choose the measurement hardware that suits your needs.

If you already have suitable measurement hardware, Smaart SPL can therefore be a straightforward way to get started without purchasing a complete SPL system.

And if you want to measure more than just SPL, you can move up to Smaart Suite, which includes the SPL functionality together with Smaart’s other tools for system measurement and optimisation.

So, which one should you choose?

10EaZy is a great choice when you want a complete, dedicated SPL system.

Smaart SPL is a good fit when you want a flexible software solution and prefer to choose your own measurement hardware.

Smaart Suite is the choice when SPL is only one part of the job and you also need tools for system analysis and optimization.

And if you already use 10EaZy, you don’t have to choose between it and Smaart. 10EaZy can be part of the complete Smaart ecosystem.

Perhaps the simplest way to look at it is:

And they can work together, too.
