Clean Workspace, Clean Mix: Organising the Data Bar
After hours of tuning, your Data Bar can overflow with generically named traces like “Trace 1,” “Trace 2,” or “New Trace.” This makes recalling settings months later a nightmare.
The v9 Organization Hacks
- Session Folders: Smaart v9 supports customizable folder creation. Set preferences for “Global” or “Data Type” folders, and create a new Session Folder for each venue or tour date to keep everything neatly separated.
- Auto-Highlight: In the Trace Average dialog, enable “Auto-Highlight.” This instantly selects the name field for the averaged trace, allowing immediate renaming without extra clicks.
- The “Save As” Submenu: Right-click any trace for the enhanced “Save As” options. Quickly export your best measurement as a Target Curve or Weighting Curve—turning it into a reusable reference for future gigs.
Implementing these simple habits keeps your Smaart workspace organised, efficient, and professional—saving time and reducing errors on every job.
Smaart is excellent on its own, but most users find they get much more out of it after some structured training. That’s where our seminars come in. At TZ Audio we run practical seminars, both online and in-venue. We offer seminar-only or full “all you need packages” including software & hardware. It’s simply the fastest way to become comfortable and confident with the measuring a sound system.
If you’re in Norway, Sweden, Denmark or Iceland – or elsewhere – we offer is online seminars and traveling to Norway is a valid option too of course. We’re here if you have any questions about the software or upcoming seminars.
